The International Trade Council of Greater Kansas City (ITCGKC) has appointed Husch Blackwell attorney Bernardo Zito Porto to its Board of Directors for a term beginning September 2023.
ITCGKC is a network of international business professionals, educators, and students who actively work to build a stronger support system for international trade in the Kansas City region. Zito Porto’s appointment to the board continues Husch Blackwell’s commitment to international trade in the U.S. Heartland, following Partner Beau Jackson, who served on the board from 2017-2023. Jackson, who leads Husch Blackwell’s nationally acclaimed Section 337 group, will continue to be involved in the regional business community, including through service on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
Zito Porto is a member of the firm’s International Trade & Supply Chain practice. He guides clients through all stages of cross-border disputes, complex commercial litigation, and proactive risk assessment on insurance coverage matters. Having practiced in the United States and Brazil, Zito Porto has a broad international perspective on litigation, arbitration, and international trade issues. He leverages his cross-cultural background and multi-lingual abilities to assist clients in Section 337 cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission and with trade-related regulatory issues such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection audits, penalties, redelivery notices, and other agency enforcement activities.
