Husch Blackwell’s Milwaukee office has contributed $20,000 to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin as part of the firm’s HB Communities for Change program.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading hunger relief organization in the state, operating food banks in Milwaukee and the Fox Valley. Its 400-plus member organizations provide food to nearly 400,000 people each year, with improvement of community access to healthy, nutritious food the cornerstone of its work. Feeding American Eastern Wisconsin is a member of Feeding America, a national network of more than 200 food banks across the country and the largest domestic hunger-relief agency in the United States.
“We are thrilled to partner with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin as part of HB Communities for Change to create the Husch Blackwell Communities for Change Grant,” said Jack Enea, managing partner of Husch Blackwell’s Milwaukee office. “Food insecurity is a concern for many here in Milwaukee, and as a result of this grant, 15 local Milwaukee organizations will benefit from funds that will in turn help them provide food directly to the thousands of people they currently serve in our community.”
Enea and Ann Maher, Husch Blackwell partner and Executive Board member, presented the grant to Patti Habeck, chief executive officer of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, on November 13, 2020.
The firm launched its HB Communities for Change initiative in July 2020. Its goal is to harness the energy of its offices to make positive change in the United States with respect to racial justice.
