Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Michael Schrier has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, DC office and as a member of its Government Contracts group.
Schrier’s practice is principally focused on the intersection of government contracts, employment law, and litigation. He routinely represents federal contractors, grant recipients, and companies and institutions doing business with or having matters before the U.S. government, including Davis-Bacon Act, Service Contract Act, federal contractor Paid Sick Leave, federal contractor minimum wage, and OFCCP matters. Schrier’s litigation experience is extensive. He represents clients in connection with the Contract Disputes Act, Miller Act and breach of contract claims in federal and state trial and appellate courts and in bid protests before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and U.S. Government Accountability Office.
Schrier’s employment law spans multiple areas. He has significant experience defending employers against trade secret misappropriation, breach of noncompetition and nondisclosure agreements, employment discrimination and retaliation (under a variety of federal and state statutes including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and False Claims Act), wrongful termination, Fair Labor Standards Act, ERISA, OSHA and unfair labor practice claims in federal and state trial and appellate courts and administrative hearings.
Schrier also advises government contractors, federal grant recipients, educational institutions and foreign governments on Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance, facilities and security clearances, False Claims Act, Buy American Act and debarment/suspension.

Schrier is a frequent writer and presenter on government contracts and procurement, employment law, construction law, and litigation. He currently serves on the Section Council for the American Bar Association’s Public Contracts Law Section. Formerly, he served as co-chair of the ABA’s Procurement Division and its Employment Safety and Labor Committee. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association’s Employment and Commercial rosters.
Schrier graduated from The George Washington University Law School and holds a B.A. from Cornell University.
