Husch Blackwell is pleased to welcome Jennifer (Jenni) C. Smith as senior counsel to its Chattanooga office.
Smith adds to the firm’s established Private Wealth and Tax team of Alan Cates, Samantha Lunn, Joseph (Joe) Simpson, and Rosemary Williams in Chattanooga.
“Jenni’s substantial experience with private wealth and related matters will complement our team and continue our committed service to current and new clients,” Cates said. “We are delighted to have her join us.”
Smith, who is licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, Texas and Arkansas, joins the firm’s Financial Services & Capital Markets industry group. She brings to Husch Blackwell an extensive background in estate planning and conservatorships and represents clients in all phases of both processes, including:
- Drafting of wills, trusts, advance directives and prenuptial agreements
- Assisting executors and administrators with estate administration
- Preparation of estate tax returns
- Trust administration and annual tax return preparation
- Conservatorship applications and proceedings
- Ongoing conservatorship management
- Estate and conservatorship litigation
Smith earned her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law and her B.S. in marketing and economics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Her professional memberships include Chattanooga Tax Practitioners, the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga and the Southeastern Tennessee Legal Association for Women (SETLAW). She is also active in numerous Chattanooga arts organizations, including singing in the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus, as well as having served on various arts organizations’ boards of directors.
