Singleton McAllister Headlines Congressional Black Caucus Institute Forum

News Releases

Husch Blackwell’s Singleton B. McAllister headlined a Congressional Black Caucus Institute (CBCI) virtual forum, “Globally Black: Increasing Diversity in Foreign Affairs Careers” on October 21.

The forum was organized to provide real-world success stories of African American professionals who incorporate and pursue their passion for international affairs in diverse fields from the Foreign Service to international business. McAllister, of counsel in the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing and Transportation industry group, shared her decades of experience spanning the halls of Congress to general counsel for USAID during the Clinton Administration to corporate boardrooms to Husch Blackwell, where she has successfully combined her skills and interest in policy, business, international affairs and government relations.

McAllister also offered a candid and hopeful perspective on the challenges that African-American women face in international affairs. The forum, simulcast on Facebook Live, brought together 150 current students from historically black colleges and universities across the country.

Joining McAllister on the CBCI panel were:

  • Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chair of the CBCI
  • Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA), U.S. House Representative to the 75th U.N. General Assembly
  • Dédé Ekoué, Former Togolese Minister of Social Affairs, Women Promotion & Literacy
