Join us for a virtual conversation on next steps for the National Coalition for Predominantly Black Institutions of Higher Education. We have significant momentum with a 25% increase in funding for Predominantly Black Institutions (PBI) in the 2023 federal budget. However, much work remains to secure the resources our institutions and students need to fully thrive, especially in recognition of the 17% decline in Black student enrollment nationwide.
During this webinar led by PBI presidents, we will discuss:
- Policy Landscape: The presenters will provide an update on our advocacy efforts to date, including takeaways from the November 2022 Washington, DC advocacy event and opportunities with the current Congress and White House.
- 2023 Goals: The presenters and attendees will discuss goals and activities for 2023. Our goals and activities will address PBIs' need for significantly more resources and greater recognition of the unique contributions of PBIs among federal leaders.
