Ellee Cochran will present, "The Tyranny of the NPDB," at the American Bar Association's Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

The incorrect report of a board action to the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) can destroy a practitioner’s reputation and their chances of employment. While a corrected report may be achieved possibly at the state board level, no appeal process exists under the NPDB. The only mechanism for correction is to request the Secretary of Health and Human Services to make the correction in their sole discretion. Recent cases that have sought cert on the denial of due process have been denied. The presentation will cover the present legal situation and potential solutions.
