Austin brings deep insights into mass tort litigation strategy to every client representation.
Austin concentrates his legal practice in the area of mass tort litigation, particularly toxic tort and asbestos litigation. He has deep experience managing significant caseloads at all phases of litigation and routinely collaborates with colleagues, in-house legal teams, and third-party professionals to drive successful litigation strategy and tactics. He has experience in all facets of the case, from actively participating in the discovery and pre-trial process, including conducting depositions, reviewing and responding to discovery demands, and drafting and arguing motions, to taking part in trials themselves.
Austin has contributed to both national coordinating counsel teams and to local counsel efforts, where he frequently manages case portfolios in some of the toughest, most plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions, including New York City, upstate New York, Long Island, and New Jersey. He prides himself on making sure each client gets the attention they deserve, no matter how big or how small they are.
Austin has also handled a variety of other types of litigation matters for clients, including class actions and matters involving premises liability, child victims’ act/labor law, hearing loss, and contractual disputes related to commercial real estate.
Prior to entering private practice, Austin served as a law clerk to Hon. Kenneth J. Grispin, Presiding Civil Judge, and Hon. Alan G. Lesnewich, Civil Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, giving him valuable insight into various areas of the law, including mass tort litigation.
