From a young age, Blake was drawn to the legal profession, attracted by its continual opportunities for both learning and teaching. He also had an interest in business and earned a degree in economics, instilling in him a desire to pursue a career where he could use legal acumen to help businesses achieve their goals and benefit all stakeholders.
Blake’s interest in corporate and transactional law was solidified during his law school classes on corporations and contract drafting. He was particularly drawn to corporate governance, seeing it as an opportunity to help companies structure themselves in the most effective way.
Blake gained valuable experience through externships with three global corporations, allowing him to see firsthand how legal departments function and what companies seek when they reach out for legal aid. He contributed to a variety of matters, from corporate governance research and contract drafting to SEC filings and shareholder proposals.
Now a fully qualified attorney, Blake focuses on commercial contracting, mergers and acquisitions, secured transactions, and securities work. He is particularly interested in corporate governance and providing counsel for businesses to ensure their structures work best for them and for their customers.
