On his way to becoming a research scientist, Colton Harris decided he could make more of an impact by practicing law.
Though he took a detour from his science career track, Colton has leveraged the knowledge and training he accumulated from earning his master’s and undergrad degrees. His background gives him a fresh perspective and an ability to focus on renewable energy issues in Husch Blackwell’s real estate and development group.
Growing up, Colton knew a lot of landowners close to home, but he also knew they didn’t always understand the complexities of working with companies to develop important energy sources. He quickly realized that one good lawyer could make a world of difference for people on both sides of any discussion. Today, he uses his research and analytical skills every day to help companies negotiate win-win transactions that help move the energy sector forward.
