Emily Solum (formerly Emily Park) helps long-term care providers navigate complex Medicaid and Medicare compliance and reimbursement laws.
Emily guides clients through increasingly complex state and federal health care laws, including state license and certification requirements, Medicaid and Medicare participation, and reimbursement rules. She advises a broad array of healthcare practitioners, focusing on long-term and post-acute care providers, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospices and home health agencies. She also counsels behavioral health and Medicaid waiver providers on compliance matters unique to those areas.
From assisting clients with transactions and licensing, to offering guidance on day-to-day compliance operations and resolving enforcement and reimbursement issues, Emily provides a full spectrum of healthcare regulatory assistance. Emily strives to understand healthcare clients’ daily operations and works proactively with clients to ensure compliance and minimize government enforcement actions. Should the need arise, Emily has significant experience with representing providers before federal and state regulatory agencies, including state licensing boards, state survey agencies, the Departmental Appeals Board, and the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeal. She also assists clients with responding to audits and resolving any overpayment or other reimbursement issues. She works closely with clients to develop strategies for a quick and favorable resolution.
Emily is passionate about her areas of practice and frequently speaks at national and state conferences on current trends impacting post-acute care and behavioral health.
