John represents clients in patent infringement cases, trade secret matters, and other complex commercial litigation.
When a side job assisting a law firm with document review sparked John’s interest in legal arguments, he enrolled in law school. He quickly realized he’d found his calling: he loved developing arguments, picking cases apart, and strategizing for the best approach, and he began his legal career as a litigator. John has successfully argued before district and appellate courts in a wide variety of commercial cases.
After cutting his teeth on general commercial litigation, he narrowed his focus to intellectual property law, primarily trade secret disputes, patent infringement cases, and trademark litigation. With a lifelong passion for learning, John loves nothing more than delving into a client’s business and innovations, and he is fascinated by the technologies at the center of clients’ cases. While John has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries, he has recently focused on medical devices, healthcare, software development, and artificial intelligence.
Known for being well informed about both cases and clients, John is dedicated to asking the right questions to understand clients’ business needs. He describes himself as a highly goal-oriented litigator: he knows that different clients have different goals for litigation, which may include preserving a relationship with the opposition in the future. John approaches every step with the final goal in mind, developing strategies customized to each client.
