Overview

An entrepreneur, tradesman, and former small business owner, JP draws on personal experience when counseling clients in corporate governance, business ownership transactions, and other securities matters.

While not the standard route to developing a corporate legal practice, JP began his career as a tradesman in the construction industry, eventually becoming a licensed journeyman plumber and owner of a commercial plumbing business. As small businesses owners often experience, juggling a broad spectrum of legal matters was mandatory in navigating business ownership. Over time, JP's interest in the legal aspects of business ownership grew, leading him to pursue a career in corporate law.

JP now focuses his practice on advising clients on complex issues around business ownership. His perspective as a hands-on business owner provides him with understanding and insight to the concerns clients face, while his unique construction background contributes to his down-to-earth and pragmatic approach to solving problems and achieving goal-oriented results. With a primary focus on the healthcare industry, JP assists clients with all aspect of business ownership, including business formation, corporate structuring, and corporate governance, as well as business acquisition and divesture strategies and implementation.
