Mallory assists clients with complex loans and other financing transactions.
An integral member of the Banking & Finance practice group, Mallory represents borrowers, lenders, investors, and mezzanine lenders in general corporate financing transactions. She works particularly often on sponsor finance and acquisition finance transactions, including construction lending, real estate lending, asset-based lending, inventory financing, equipment lending, and other mid-cap deals. In addition, Mallory frequently handles tax credit financing, assisting lenders with bridge loans and other pre-development loans for the acquisition and development of community development facilities and affordable housing facilities involving New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), Low-income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historical Tax Credits (HTC), and the Affordable Housing Program (AHP).
Prior to joining the firm, Mallory began her legal career at Fidelity National Financial, a leading provider of title insurance and settlement services to the real estate and mortgage industries. She assisted insureds in resolving title issues, including bankruptcy matters and intestate issues; handled escrow claims; and reviewed regulatory requirements and responded to the Department of Insurance and state agencies. While her practice today is considerably broader than real estate and insurance, the role gave her a solid foundation in the nuances of lending. Mallory also retained outside counsel while in-house, a responsibility which gave her an inside view on how law firms can best add value for clients.
Mallory loves working directly with clients and supporting their business goals—in fact, she left in-house work for an AmLaw 100 firm partly out of a desire to interact and build relationships with individual clients. She’s best known for her ability to break down complex issues into easily digestible terms.
