With a background in business, Megan speaks clients’ language.
As a student, Megan was conflicted between pursuing a career in business versus a career in law. She chose to study finance at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, taking a position after graduation as a finance-law analyst for a finance focused law firm. Megan realized immediately that this was her answer: she could combine her passion for business with an intricate knowledge of the law as an attorney who advised on financial matters.
Megan twice served as a Husch Blackwell summer associate during law school, assisting across a broad array of practices that included bankruptcy, antitrust, real estate, federal and state taxation, corporate governance, contract review and financial regulation. Her projects included an extensive CLE presentation for a nonprofit client on tax credit changes, work Megan found particularly satisfying: she loves helping clients increase their knowledge and educate their internal teams.
Today, Megan assists clients with contract review; operating agreements, bylaws and other governance documents; and tax questions, particularly those involving federal tax implications for different entity types. She is adept at helping clients increase efficiency in their legal work and minimize their tax burden as they grow their businesses. Megan has previously worked with artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to develop large-scale and comprehensive contract review processes, leading to more efficient workflow, higher quality output and decreased legal spend for clients.
Known for her ability to speak the language of the business world and for her sincere interest in client business matters, Megan is building a strong reputation for always offering the best work possible.
