With a gift for oral argument, Mycal defends clients in complex commercial litigation.
Mycal devotes much of his time to assisting healthcare providers in licensing matters. He routinely represents doctors, nurses, and other practitioners with licensing disputes and investigations by various medical boards. Mycal further helps clients retain their licenses and guiding them throughout the investigative process. It is an area of law that Mycal finds deeply satisfying: each case presents an opportunity to help an individual personally, and Mycal thrives on working directly with these clients.
In addition to his work in the healthcare industry, Mycal represents major nationwide companies in commercial disputes by handling discovery requests, drafting motions, and analyzing the risks and liabilities of going to trial. Additionally, Mycal works to provide preventative counsel by helping clients consider and avoid potential problems. He also works with Husch Blackwell’s Tax team, helping nonprofit organizations obtain and maintain their tax-exempt status. Mycal has assisted with nonprofit entity formation and the drafting of bylaws for both small startups and large, multi-state organizations.
Prior to law school, Mycal’s first career was as an elementary school teacher—an experience that helped to build his skills as an attorney. The same qualities and passions that served him well in the classroom—researching, learning, and explaining solutions—have been an equally excellent fit for litigation. Clients appreciate Mycal’s ability to explain and break down complex legal issues. He is also particularly gifted at teaching the law to juries, and he excels at persuasive closing arguments.
