Sammie assists clients with construction and real estate transactions throughout the country.
Sammie first developed an interest in the real estate industry during her law school days, when she interned with a trade association representing contractors. After graduation, she worked in-house for a national general contractor, experience that gave her an inside perspective on the day-to-day realities of complex construction transactions, before joining Husch Blackwell in 2017.
Sammie originally handled both litigation and transactional projects for the firm’s construction clients, but today she divides her practice between construction contracts and traditional commercial real estate with deal values in the tens to hundreds of millions. She regularly works in a wide variety of industries, including multi-family, hospitality, mixed-use, healthcare, industrial, retail and higher education (including student housing). Sammie represents clients from the letter of intent through the ribbon cutting – she loves helping clients assemble the pieces of a transaction, and she’s always excited to see a deal all the way through.
Sammie sees transactions as opportunities to collaborate and achieve a positive outcome for all parties, and her time as a litigator means that she’s instinctively aware of points that can trigger lawsuits later. She’s known for her practicality, efficiency, and focus on each individual client’s needs: Sammie aims to fully understand each client’s risk tolerance and project goals so that she can deliver customized advice.
