Overview

Sarah’s commercial litigation practice is distinguished by her strategic approach to solving clients’ most challenging legal issues.

With an exceptional ability to weave compelling narratives from intricate details, Sarah enjoys digging into the specifics in complex litigation. Representing a diverse array of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to private enterprises, Sarah tackles complex contract disputes, business torts, pharmacy product litigation, and antitrust matters, including allegations of price or wage fixing, as well as consumer fraud actions under statutes like the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Her extensive experience spans state and federal courts nationwide, as well as arbitrations and mediations.

Sarah collaborates closely with in-house legal teams to devise and implement strategies for high-stakes class action suits and expansive multi-district litigation. She partners with a wide range of healthcare industry clients, including both providers and payors. Sarah is passionate about practicing in such a complex and everchanging legal landscape in an industry with wide-ranging impact.

She serves as chair of the firm’s NextGen committee.

Experience

Assisted in obtaining summary judgment for large pharmacy benefit manager accused of wrongful termination of contract and assisted in successful negotiation of settlement on counterclaim against breaching pharmacy.
Won summary judgment in class action lawsuit against Missouri Department of Corrections on behalf of inmates sentenced to life imprisonment as juveniles. Argued on behalf of class regarding constitutional remedies for defendant's violations of class' due process and Eighth Amendment rights.
Assisted in obtaining voluntary dismissal of nationwide consumer fraud class action involving air ambulance services following removal to federal court and filing of early summary judgment motion.
Obtained multimillion dollar judgment against former network pharmacy after repeated breaches of contract as part of arbitration team.
Managed e-discovery in $50 million dollar case for PBM dealing with complex issues such as stop loss insurance and allegations of improper claim approvals.
Managed discovery, deadlines, and depositions for antitrust litigation for price fixing and wage fixing case.
Won motion to dismiss for infusion client in Illinois state court (Midwest Neurosurgeons v. DCI).
Advised healthcare and education clients on Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) compliance and developed legal strategy for TCPA.

Outside the Office

Sarah and her husband enjoy travelling and trying new restaurants together. The couple have two large Labs that see themselves as lap dogs: Ellie, a Chocolate Lab named for Ellie’s Brown Ale, and Samson, a Black Lab pandemic puppy who needs as much attention as possible.

Community Leadership

Among her pro bono and volunteer work, Sarah has served on the board of Caring Solutions, an organization that provides services for individuals with developmental disabilities in connection with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, since 2018. She served as Board President for a two-year term from 2023-2024.
