Tanner supports clients’ corporate needs.
Much of Tanner’s corporate legal practice is devoted to mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions, primarily in the middle market space with values up to $340 million. He has assisted with deals throughout the country, representing clients on both coasts and throughout the Midwest from a diverse array of industries. Tanner’s primary focus in transactions is due diligence and contract drafting, as well as intellectual property concerns, including the drafting of software agreements and analysis of related risks. He has also represented clients in commercial real estate transactions and assisted with entity formation for the purchase of commercial property.
In addition, Tanner devotes a portion of his practice to the unique needs of startups and emerging companies. Tanner has supported clients throughout the full startup life cycle, from early-stage entity formation, equity planning, and governance questions to major fundraising efforts for nationwide expansion to eventual sale. He thrives on the opportunities for creativity the startup world offers, and he loves partnering with clients as they define and achieve their vision.
Tanner enjoys diving into clients’ businesses so that he can offer customized advice, and he is known as an approachable professional who takes his work but not himself seriously. However, what clients most appreciate is simply Tanner’s adaptability: he’s willing to tackle any issue that arises and has the flexibility to accommodate each client’s unique goals and needs.
