Hal Katz, partner in Husch Blackwell’s Healthcare practice group, was installed as Chair of the Health Law Section (HLS) of the American Bar Association July 31, 2020.
Katz is based in the firm’s Austin office and focuses his legal practice on corporate, transactional and regulatory issues for healthcare industry clients, including for-profit, nonprofit and governmental entities. He has been on the front line of healthcare evolution and innovation, representing clients engaged in emerging areas like telehealth and the increasing participation of private equity in the healthcare arena.
“While times are not easy, I see great opportunity for the Section and our Members,” Katz said. Katz has served in many HLS leadership roles over the years. He is also the immediate past Chair of the State Bar of Texas Health Law Section. The ABA Health Law Section has close to 10,000 members from across the United States.
