Auriel uses her prior professional experience as an advocate to creatively meet complex client needs in corporate transactions.
Prior to entering the legal field, Auriel began her career with more than eight years’ experience in social work and behavioral health administration. The work involved navigating serious situations—often with lives at stake—and gave Auriel the confidence to readily approach the negotiating table for massive corporate transactions. Auriel also sees parallels between the framework of social work and transactional law: both have a single individual or transaction at the hub, with a host of different needs branching out that will be met by various professionals. In both industries, Auriel’s role has been to collaboratively find catered solutions to ensure that needs are met.
During her time at Marquette Law, Auriel participated in the Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic, assisting small businesses and startups. She quickly discovered a passion for digging into business questions and drafting transactional documents; this further solidified her decision to focus her practice on corporate transactions. Auriel’s experience includes working with clients on both real estate projects and corporate matters, including drafting ancillary documents and reviewing contracts. Auriel also assists with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, capital transactions and commercial contract negotiations.
Clients appreciate Auriel’s confident negotiating skills and know they can count on her to advocate for their interests. They also appreciate how approachable and responsive she is: Auriel believes that most problems arise from communication breakdowns, and she prioritizes timely responses.
