  • Secured $1.45 million jury verdict in accounting malpractice case claiming negligent misrepresentation on financial statements; affirmed on appeal.
  • Avoided $7.5 million claim and class action certification, winning motion for summary judgment in federal court in case alleging tortious interference and violations of the Texas Optometry Act. The result was a take-nothing judgment for plaintiff.
  • Avoided $2.3 million jury verdict on breach of fiduciary duty claim in partnership dispute.
  • Disposed of more than 200 mortgage defense cases via summary judgment, including award of attorney fees, based on wrongful foreclosure, fraud and breach of contract.
  • Avoided $15 million product liability claim in jury trial resulting in a take-nothing judgment for plaintiff.
  • Avoided $15 million product defect claim in jury trial resulting in a take-nothing judgment for plaintiff.
  • Obtained favorable jury verdict for international manufacturing client and avoided $14 million claim in product liability matter including failure to warn and defective product design.
  • Achieved victory at Texas Supreme Court for staffing company against temporary workers' claims that they did not electronically execute an arbitration agreement despite comprehensive evidence of the staffing company's onboarding system. The ruling is meaningful for all companies doing business in Texas holding that a claimant's simple denial that they did not electronically execute an agreement is insufficient.

Outside the Office

Chalon and her husband have three baby girls – one she delivered the day after presenting final arguments in a trial. The couple also owns a chain of Jamaican restaurants in Dallas called The Island Spot. Chalon enjoys interior design and works with her husband designing and decorating the restaurants, remodeling residences, and rehabbing homes for sale. With family roots in the Bahamas and Jamaica, they travel throughout the Caribbean and on their bucket list is a plan to visit every Caribbean island. Chalon is also a writer and is completing her first book.
