Thirty years of combined experience in patent law and industry informs Paul’s approach, enabling him to address clients’ intellectual property (IP) needs expeditiously and efficiently.
A registered patent attorney, Paul procures domestic and international IP rights for clients while ensuring they are not infringing on the rights of others. He regularly collaborates with in-house and outside counsel, engineers, scientists, and corporate executives to facilitate business plans that preserve research and development; prosecutes patents and trademarks; and interfaces with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Whether assisting a multinational corporation or a sole inventor, Paul endeavors to understand the client’s motivations. From pursuing patents that will help a company continue to grow and expand to protecting an individual’s one-in-a-million invention that has the potential to truly change lives, Paul provides the counsel and support necessary to achieve each client’s specific goals.
Clients across a range of industries, including consumer products, heavy manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and medical devices, turn to Paul for their IP requirements. Prior to practicing law, he worked as an engineer at capital equipment manufacturers—first at a manufacturer of commercial and industrial fluid purification equipment, then at a thermal-processing equipment manufacturing company. During this time, he was exposed to the needs and nuances of commercial and industrial customers in industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automotive, beverage, aerospace, and electronics. This cumulative experience enhances Paul’s ability to empathize with clients and provide strategic and practical advice relative to the competitive landscape in which they operate.
After more than 20 years at an IP boutique, Paul joined Husch Blackwell in 2024 to expose clients to additional resources that may be of value to them.
