A seasoned attorney with nearly 25 years of experience in corporate law, Michael makes clients’ lives easier.
Michael has focused his legal career on the corporate world from the very beginning: as a law student at George Mason University, he had the opportunity to choose a major, and his father’s career as a corporate attorney had already interested him in the field. It was soon clear to Michael that he was particularly passionate about corporate transactions. He thrived on the opportunity to serve as the quarterback of a client’s M&A team, working with colleagues across differing practice areas. Michael is highly adept at leading diverse teams of professionals through successful transactions.
Michael devotes much of his practice to middle market mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other transactions. While he represents clients across a wide variety of industries, he has a particular focus on food and food systems. Michael is deeply familiar with the dairy industry, as well as hospitality and restaurants. He chose to join Husch Blackwell in 2023 out of excitement for the firm’s industry-driven structure, immediately becoming a member of the Food Systems industry unit.
In addition to his transactional work, Michael also has a significant focus on securities law and the private placement of securities, including through the EB-5 immigrant investment program wherein foreign nationals invest in job-creating entities in the U.S. Michael has worked with EB-5 clients since 2016, representing multiple projects in which EB-5 participants have invested. He also serves as primary outside counsel to various smaller companies and high net worth individuals.
With a reputation as a relatable and responsive professional, Michael enjoys getting to know clients’ businesses as thoroughly as possible. His aim is to make transactions and other legal matters easy, so that clients can focus on their day-to-day business needs.
